After the vas uninhabited spaces of Alaska and Northern Canada, after the beauty of the national parks of the Canadian Rockies and the US, after the north of Mexico living in a state of ferar, my journey went into a new dimension: History, culture and human contacts.

From churches to plazas, from museums du parks, this city is full of life. Guadalajara, the second biggest city in Mexico is also the home of the mariachi musicians.

Of course, there is still a very strong police presence, but I noticed that the climate is different here, people do not live so much in fear naymore and enjoy their life. It often hard to find an empty place on one of the many benches in one of the many parks here. People are open-minded, here is also the largest gay community of Mexico, apparently even the second largest worldwide, after San Francisco.

Guadalajara will host the next Pro-American games in a few weeks. In sports, this city is also ahead of many others. Every Sunday, for 5 hours, the old town is reserved for cyclists, skaters, joggers and others. Apparently up to 150.000 people seize this opportunity, and enjoy their city on a 25km long circuit, called Via recreativa One can rent bikes, and I saw a queue of at least 100 meters of people waiting in front of a bicycle rental place.

In the main cathedral is the embalmed corpse of Santa Inocentia, who was martyred at the age of 14 for refusing to abjure her faith

And finally, ther is the Hospicio Cabanas, a world heritage site containing the monumental frescoes of Jose Orozco
