When we left Korla this afternoon, we also left Taklamakan desert behind us. For 2 weeks, we walked and cycled along the North side of this huge desert.

 Once out of town, we crossed a little pass and……  entered Gobi desert straight away.

Today’s stage was a short one, 72 km only, as we still do not know how to handle the heat problem properly.

So we tried to leave late today, but at 4 pm, when we climbed that pass, the temperature was still at 39°.

Too much for Nico.

Upon arrival at Yanqi, the temperature dropped to “only” 35°, still better than nothing. Basically, we should have cycled for another hour, but, after taken a few (legal) photos, I lost my team, (or my team lost me) and we spent a lot of time trying to find each other again.

Finally, as it was already 7 pm we decided to stay here.

Everybody is tired.
