It should have been three days of real pleasure driving my Harley to Venice, but the weather decided differently. So I started in the cold and finished my first day in the rain, in Donaueschingen, Germany.  Before I left the following day, I went to buy some warm underclothes and drove in the rain to the Alps. Lucky these hold the rain clouds on their north side, and, once I passed the San Bernardino tunnel, I was in the sun at last. My second night was in Lugano (Switzerland)

Today I visited the MV Agusta motorcycles factory in Varese (Italy) where my dream bike, the F4 is built.  Then I could finally enjoy the final ride to Venice under blue sky. I drove a total of 1180 km, 500 of them in the rain.

In Venice, the first thing I did was to search for the house where Marco Polo lived. When I finally found it I was really disappointed: The original house does not exist anymore, a new and ugly building has been erected recently. Only an inscription above the front door remembers of Marco Polo
