to Turkey.

My passport is at some embassy at the moment for my visa quest. So Serbia denied me access as I only had an ID card. All the other countries allow Luxembourgers to enter with an ID card.

As expected, problems started in Turkey. Normally there should have been an inscription into my passport with all details about my car. As I did not have a passport, these details were written on a separate piece of paper, which a had to produce upen request to Turkish authorities. It took us about 2 hours to enter Turkey.

Now it was clear that exiting without the car would be a much bigger problem. So, the day before leaving Istanbul , my friend Berna (her again, yes!) went with us to the police station to fix everything. We had to pass 14 different offices before I had all the necessary papers! But, thanks to Berna, all this was done in just 2 hours. People were all very friendly and smiling (more to Berna than to me)

My poor Golf is now in the police impound in Istanbul.

Arriving by ship next month from Venice,  I will pick it up again and drive it to Kyrgyzstan.
