Do not buy “Cartographia” maps!

Unless  you want a shitty day like mine. This useless map shows a border point that doesn’t exist. So I had to turn back the way I came yesterday. 40km.  Times  2 = 80 useless km because some idiots don’t du their job as they should.

I was supposed to be in Turkey early this morning; I crossed the border at noon only.

On the Greek side: 1 soldier
On the Turkish side: many… plus chicanes, protect-digs and, and, and.
This is by far the best protected border I have seen so far. Kosovo was nothing compared to this. One would not believe that  these two countries are friends and NATO partners.

First big city is Edirne with the amazing  Selemiye mosque. Some people say, it is Turkeys most beautiful one.

The more I cycle East, I notice that the car drivers love to honk and wave at me. They are very friendly, but frighten me to death, every time they honk just behind me.

The dogs as well are more and more interested in me, running behind me, coming closer and closer.
Not friendly at all.

And the kids, as everywhere in the world, are curious to see a funny looking stranger. Every time I stop, they run to me, laughing, and yelling the only non-Turkish word they know: Hello mister!

To night, when I went into town for food, I had the choice between Döner, Döner and Döner.

Guess what I ate……..
